Kathy has more than 20 years of experience in sales, with the last five years focused on assisting clients with mortgage financing for home ownership which she finds one of the most rewarding aspects of her career. She loves helping people and solving complex problems. The mortgage business fits these two aspects of her personality perfectly.
Kathy was born and raised
in Johannesburg, South Africa. She immigrated to Atlanta, GA in 2000 when her
father won a green card in the lottery. She now splits her time between
Nashville and Atlanta and loves both cities equally. She brings a genuine
happiness and a sense of humor to the home buying process which she considers
one of the most important purchases a person will ever make. She tries to make
each purchase an opportunity to forge a lasting relationship – in addition to
offering competitive rates and costs, it takes discipline, attention to
details, communication and excellent time management to get a loan approved and
closed on time. In order to provide her clients with the most diverse
range of product offerings she has aligned herself with Neighborhood Mortgage,
Inc. She is an expert in Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, and JUMBO financing
but also in other types of non-traditional financing for clients who don’t fit
the standard qualifying guidelines.
When Kathy isn’t busy helping clients, she can be found on the
tennis court, writing songs, and spending time with her family and
friends. Kathy attended UNISA, University of South Africa and has an
undergraduate degree in Psychology and Communications and a diploma in Audio
Engineering. Kathy is a five-year breast cancer survivor and is currently
serving on the board for the TBCC (Tennessee Breast Cancer
Coalition) which assists breast cancer patients with paying their bills
while they are actively going through treatment.

We were selling and buying concurrently (always challenging and stressful) and had some crazy issues in the process that had us worried about the timelines but Marty and the team worked in sync with our realtor to get everything closed on both sides insanely fast, AND they were right on top of the market craziness to get us rate locked when the bond markets took an unexpected intraday dip. Can’t recommend them highly enough. Communication was always timely and on point, and the whole team are consummate professionals through and through! I must say Jennifer Brown with Neighborhood Mortgage helped me tremendously. I was moving through the legal stages of divorce. I needed to decide my future living arrangements. Unlike many mortgage companies, Jennifer took the time to help me figure out which was best option for me at this financial stage in my life. Buying again vs. Renting? down payments, monthly payments, staying within my monthly budget, and how long did I plan to stay in GA? So many variables went into this other than just getting prequalified, finding a place and moving on. Jennifer did not treat me as just another mortgage. In fact based on the information I provided it was not in my best interest to buy right away. I appreciated Ms. Brown’s honesty and hard work. She could have given me a loan and sent me on my way. However, we decided on other options and that is what makes her FAR ABOVE the rest. Thank you Jennifer and to Neighborhood Mortgage for the prompt responses, professionalism and most of all going above and beyond.
